Teen summer reading kickoff:
Improvise and Metamorphosize Theatre

Tuesday, June 24 from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Improv and theatre games kick off our summer reading program!  Teens will work in groups to "metamorphsize" stories into skits utilizing improvisation, performance and storytelling skills.
 

Skateboard Demonstration
Friday, June 27 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Landslide Skate Park Team will be bringing their ramps and half pipes to the library!  Come give “props” to the team as they showcase their talents.  Free pizza will be provided.
 

Roller Coasters
Monday, July 7 from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

An engaging, interactive workshop where teens will team up to engineer a roller coaster. Come discover the science behind what makes roller coasters work. Presented by the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum.  
 

Detroit Science Center Planetarium
Wednesday, July 9 from 11:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

Tour the night sky's stars, constellations, planets, and moon in the Detroit Science Center's portable starlab. Drop in anytime between 11 am and 6:30 pm. An instructor will begin a tour with a new group of 25 every half hour for the whole day. Ages 5 through adult welcome.
 

runway project: altered fashions & costumes
Tuesday, July 15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Seeking wannabe fashion designers, models and judges for this exciting program based on the hit series Project Runway.  “Metamorphosize” old clothes into stunning new creations.  No sewing required.  Supplies will be provided but feel free to bring your own stuff as well.
 

Game Night
Friday, July 25 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Games in the library after-hours!  Come play Rock Band, DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), Guitar Hero, Nintendo Wii, and a variety of board games.  Free pizza and refreshments will be  served.
 

Drummunity
Tuesday, July 29 from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Back by popular demand! Lori Fithian brings her huge collection of drums and percussion instruments for a hands-on program for everyone. All ages welcome.
 

Teen Summer Reading Finale:
Concert in Kolping Park

Tuesday, August 5 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
