Library Closed

November 14, 2009 through Mid-January, 2010

The Macomb Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped will close temporarily for renovations.  Walls will be removed and erected to comply with fire codes, carpeting will be installed and the library will be painted.  The LBPH will close on November 13, 2009 and will be closed for approximately 8 weeks.  You will receive a notice in January when the library reopens.

Cassette and Digital Book Readers and Descriptive Video Borrowers

While the LBPH is closed, you will receive service from the Library of Michigan Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped in Lansing (SBPH).  Books will not be sent to you automatically. You must call the SBPH toll free at 1-800-992-9012 to have books or descriptive videocassettes delivered to you.  You can also call the Macomb LBPH anytime before November 13 and request a large supply of cassette books or descriptive videocassettes so you don’t run out of books during the closed period.  Please do not return any books or descriptive videocassettes in the mail to the Macomb LBPH while the library is closed.

Large Print Book Readers

While the LBPH is closed, you will need to visit your local library for large print books.  The Library of Michigan SBPH does not have a large print book collection.  You can also call or visit the Macomb LBPH anytime before November 13 and request a large supply of books so you don’t run out of books during the closed period.  Please do not return any books in the mail to the Macomb LBPH while the library is closed.

Kits for Students with Reading Disabilities and CCTV’s

Kits and CCTV’s will not be available while the LBPH is closed.  Please call the Macomb LBPH for these items before the date of closure, November 13.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this temporary closure causes.  Please come and visit the newly remodeled Macomb LBPH when we open in January.
