Get a Clue @ Your Library - 2007 Summer Reading Program

Nicholas Lippard was the grand prize winner for the children and teen 2007 summer reading program, “Get a Clue @ Your Library”.  Nicholas read at least 15 minutes per day for a total of 12 hours of reading.  His name was entered in the grand prize drawing and was the lucky winner.  Nicholas chose the Armadillo Army Software educational video game as his grand prize.  Congratulations Nicholas!  Other participants included in the grand prize drawing and receiving participation prizes were Jeremy Levi, Robert Lippard and Douglas Paulsell.  Watch for this year’s program, “Catch the Reading Bug”.

Save the Date - June 3

The Macomb LBPH will celebrate its 25th anniversary of service to Macomb County residents.  Dr. Lylas Mogk, director of the Henry Ford Visual Rehabilitation and Research Center will be the featured speaker.

Word Link Game

Select a book to read.  The next book you read after that must contain a word from the title of the previous book.  Continue this format and see how many books you can read that are linked. For example:  Painted House by John Grisham; House of Sand and Fog by Andre Dubus; Carved in Sand by Cathryn Ramin.  The person with the longest link will receive a cassette collection of 12 classic radio shows.  Complete eight and receive one entry in the grand prize drawing for your own personal cassette player donated by the Macomb Intermediate School District.  Participants reading eight or more books will receive a talking calculator.  Thank you, Joe Slisinger, for recommending this game.

Word link begins Feb 19 and ends April 4.
