Macomb County Databases

These databases are maintained by Mount Clemens Public Library for the benefit of historians and genealogists who have a research interest in Macomb County or her communities.

Macomb County Cemetery Master Index - this index was created by members of the Macomb County Genealogy Group, and serves as a master index to cemetery transcriptions for 52 cemeteries in the county.  The site also includes a location guide to all cemeteries in the county. 

Macomb County Obituary Index - this index was created by members of the Macomb County Genealogy Group, and indexes obituaries found in Mount Clemens area newspapers.  Entries range from 1880 to the present, however, the database is a work in progress and not all years are covered. Indexing is continuing and periodic updates will be loaded. Searchable by surname or maiden name.

Macomb County Funeral Home Records Index - this index was created by members of the Macomb County Genealogy Group, and indexes funeral home records available in original or abstracted form in the collection of Mount Clemens Public Library.  Searchable by surname.

1930 Census Index for Macomb County, Michigan - this is an every-name index to the 1930 federal census of Macomb County. Each entry provides the name, age, city or township of residence, enumeration district, page number and line number.

Suburban Library Cooperative online digital media archive - this archive contains thousands of photographs and documents relating to the history of Macomb County's communities and families.  Material is being added weekly by several area public libraries.  If you are searching from your home computer, turn off your pop-up blocker while searching the archive.

Macomb County Military Index - This index includes the names of residents of Macomb County, Michigan who served in the military during wartime, Civil War through Korean War. The database is compiled from numerous published sources and newspaper clippings. Each entry includes a source code for the primary source which identified the individual as a war veteran.

Macomb News Index - this database is a selected index of Macomb County news stories which appeared in the Macomb Daily newspaper, August 1994 to present. (The index is created by the reference staff of Mount Clemens Public Library and is not affiliated with The Macomb Daily).

Macomb County Probate Index - surname index to microfilms of Macomb County probate records 1821-1929. Microfilms are available for viewing at Mount Clemens Public Library.

World War I Draft Registration Index for Macomb County, Michigan - this database is an index to National Archives microfilm of the World War I Selective Service Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918, for Macomb County, Michigan, M1509, reels 113-114.  It includes 7,243 entries for Macomb County men who registered for the draft during World War I.  Microfilm of the draft registration cards is available for viewing at Mount Clemens Public Library.

World War I Service Records for Macomb County, Michigan - this database contains records of the 1,066 men from Macomb County who served in the military during World War I.  The records of service were compiled by the Macomb County War Board in 1920, and a complete copy of the record is available for viewing at Mount Clemens Public Library.

1890 Special Veterans Census Index for Macomb County, Michigan - transcription of the special census of 1890 which enumerated Civil War veterans or their widows, created by Robert and Cherie Allen.  Microfilm of the census is available for viewing at Mount Clemens Public Library.

Mount Clemens City Directory Master Index - master index to city directories published for Mount Clemens for the years 1896-1966. Development of the database is ongoing. Consult the database home page for details on current contents of the index.  Searchable by surname, business name, employer or street name.

Mount Clemens High School Yearbook Master Name Index - master index of names included in yearbooks from Mount Clemens High School.

Mount Clemens Historical Commission Historical Marker Database - data on buildings which have received an historical marker from the Mount Clemens Historical Commission.

Pageant of Progress Index - index of names included in the July, 1928 newspaper supplement which chronicled commercial and industrial progress in the communities of Macomb County.  The Pageant of Progress contains the names of many businessmen, civic leaders, and politicians.
