Board of Trustees

The Board is comprised of five city residents who have attained at least 18 years of age. Trustees are appointed to the board by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. The current members are:

Meetings

Board meetings are scheduled on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m., and meet in the small conference room at MacDonald Public Library. Concerns or congratulations may be voiced in person or by written correspondence.

Friends of the Library

The Friends Group is a not-for-profit organization which meets sporadically throughout the year to promote the library in the community. Proceeds from the Friends go toward the purchase of materials, furniture, etc. for the library. Friends form!

The Friends host events and the short story discussion group. All of these activities and more fall under the Friends Mission Statement:

Progressive Literary Club

The Progressive Literary Club is an organization that meets from September to May each year. Profits from dues and other sources are used to buy books and audiocassettes of special interest.

The club also purchases the best books of the year in children's literature, including the Newbery and Caldecott Award-winning books.
