*Interlibrary
Loans and Fees
These
fees and loan dates are set by the
owning Library and will be presented to
patron prior to checkout.
Books
in Demand
The Library staff will determine
if a book requires a change in the loan
period or if the number of books a
patron checks out needs to be limited
(i.e. school projects, science fair, new
books).
Overdue
Charges
Overdue charges are a per day charge based on the type of
material.
No fines are assessed for days
the library is closed.
All materials will be considered
overdue if they have not been renewed or
returned by the due date.
If a patron owes more than $5.00
in overdue charges to Ray Township
Library or any Library within the
Suburban Library Cooperative, no books
may be checked out.
Maximum
Overdue Library
materials will reach a maximum overdue
after 45 days of fines have accrued.
Damaged
Materials
Patrons are responsible for all
materials checked out on their card and
are liable for any damages that occur.
If damages occur to Library
materials (i.e. water damage, crayon
marks, cover or binding damage),
appropriate charges will be assessed.
Replacement
of Damaged Materials
The charge for the damaged
material will be the full retail value
of the item.
Lost
Materials
Overdue materials that obtain a
maximum overdue will be considered lost
materials.
Patrons will be required to pay
the current retail value of all lost
library materials, or return the
materials and pay the maximum overdue
fine.
Any
patron with outstanding charges for lost
materials on their record will not be
allowed to use their library card until
all charges have been paid.
All
fines are to be paid to the Ray Township
Public Library.
Library
Card Policies
Library
cards will be issued to residents of Ray
Township.
Any
individual requesting a library card
will need to show a driver’s license,
Michigan ID card, or other proper
identification (i.e. utility bill with
current address).
An
adult parent or guardian will be
required to sign for children under age
18.
The
library card is valid for three years
from the date of issue.
Expired cards will be renewed
free of charge.
There
is no charge for a patron’s initial
card.
If a library card is lost, the
cost to replace the card is $3.00.
All
patrons will need to present a library
card to borrow library materials and for
Internet use.
Ray
Township Public Library honors library cards
issued by all member libraries of the
Suburban Library Cooperative.
