Ever try reading about relativity and just not gotten it? This is the most concise, clear explanation of the theory that I have read.

CHILDREN

Airman / Eoin Colfer
BCD, EB, FIC
Airman, a great book written by the popular Eoin Colfer, is in my opinion greater than any other young adult book I have ever read. It is truly my favorite.
(Christa from RSV)

Bloody Jack: Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary “Jacky” Faber, Ship’s Boy / L.A. Meyer
FIC, PL
Jackie Faber, AKA Bloody Jack, often finds unpredictable solutions to her hilarious dilemmas. This series is an exciting way to learn 19th century British, French, Spanish, and U.S. history while having a romping good time.
(Marge from MTC)

The Book Thief / Markus Zusak
BCD, EB, FIC, LT
Death narrates this story of a young German girl named Liesel, the book thief, at the onset of WWII. Her foster father teaches her to read, her best friend helps her steal books, and the Jewish man hiding in her basement helps her appreciate life. This book is well-written and worthy of its many awards.
(Cindy Coote from HPW)

Gingerbread Pirates / Kristin Kladstrup
FIC
This book combines a boy’s love of gingerbread men and pirates in a unique Christmas story that is not overly sweet. You may need to mix up a batch of gingerbread dough after reading this book!
(Beth from HPW)
