What happens when primitive wilderness is overthrown by bustling, industrial enterprise? Find out as Pulitzer Prize winning historian Bruce Catton recounts the rich history of his native state. Catton, born in Petoskey and raised in Oberlin, specialized in popular histories that emphasized the colorful characters and vignettes of history. His study of Michigan is no exception.

Just in time for the holidays, Judy Cornellier from Telly's Greenhouse will demonstrate how to make an evergreen door sway or swag. Participants will prepay $10.00 when they register and Judy will provide the materials and design suggestions.

Register and pay your materials fee at the Circulation Desk. Registration ends Tuesday, November 10.

Bring your genealogy problems, questions or lineage to our drop-in workshop. Experienced DAR members from the Josiah Harmar chapter will be there to offer advice, strategies or help with DAR applications.


RHGS Annual Dinner
Wednesday, Nov. 18th @ 5:30 p.m.

The celebrated RHGS Annual Dinner is open to members and nonmembers. Our speaker will be the Honorable Judge Joseph Boedeker. Tickets can be purchased at the library. $12.50 pp. Space is limited and tickets are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
