Staff "Pats on the Back"

Thanks to Phill Kwik for his time, expertise and quick turn-around time in helping to produce the one pagers for the Special Needs Collection Grand Opening. The pictures look great. A number of people commented how helpful the one page snapshot will be, including Julie Sigler.  Thanks also for putting the file on a flash drive for the Friends - great idea!     Eve Parsons (Friends of TPL)  [10/5/07]

Recognition to Chris Hunsanger for his work in producing material for the Special Needs Collection Grand Opening. Chris did an excellent job finding clean images for the one pagers and did the work quickly and correctly. Thanks, Chris!     Phill Kiwk  [10/5/07]

Thank you, Barb Williams, for your willingness to help!!!! It is much appreciated and you wioll do a great job, I know it. Barb will be a librarian presence for Talk Time on October 13th, but has no previous experience with the program.      Cathy Russ  [10/4/07]

Pats on the Back to both Terry Meyer and Girish Sardey (Adult Services) for cheerfully and energetically helping to transform the Meeting Room late in the day on three consecutive Saturdays in September to prepare for the Sunday music series. In some cases this involved moving, unstacking almost every chair we own, as well as cleaning the table tops.     Barb Schaich  [10/4/07]

A Pat on the Back to Barry Hyland (Technology Center) for facilitating the September 29th Talk Time session at the last minute! His help was very much appreciated by Talk Time participants and fellow staff members alike.     Barb Schaich  [10/4/07]

Kudos to Juliet Moy ifor her assistance on a day when Circulation was short-handed.     Linda Horn  [10/2/07]

Thanks to Katherine Downie who set up a Circulation rotation when the schedule aide was ill and no other aide was available.     Linda Horn  [10/2/07]

Commendation to Andrea Enright who stepped up as a mentor for the Circulation staff and a point person when needed.     Linda Horn  [10/2/07]

Brava to Sandra Clouse for planning and arranging ten years worth of patron applications.  Linda Horn  [10/2/07]

Appreciation to Joel Tripp for his assistance, follow-through, and ideas on special projects such as items for auction, the problem shelf, and holds.     Linda Horn  [10/2/07]

Major pats on the back to Circulation and Youth Services who handled a surprise kindergarten visit of 50 kids with no notice! Thanks you to everyone involved for your excellent smooth handling of this unforeseen situation.     Cathy Russ  [9/20/07]

Kudos to Linda Horn for dealing with the icky problem of two dead squirrels on the Library lawn. It was above & beyond the call of duty!     Cathy Russ  [9/20/07]]

A job well done to both Linda Horn and Linda Cook who did a wonderful, cheerful job & were a great help.     Pat Mackey (patron)  [9/16/07]

Thanks to Judy Franklin in the Tech Center. She is an excellent example of public service and staff communication as she provided a patron with detailed information on how to attach her resume, find her C drive, etc. after the patron contacted TPL about not being able to get into the Office Training Classes. Judy turned an unhappy patron into a grateful patron.     Cathy Russ/Phill Kwik  [9/14/07]

Applause to TPL Staff who received the following complement: "What a wonderful Library! Although I've been a Troy resident for more than 30 years, I used my university library as a student at WSU and as a professor at EMU, and of course, the resources of my graduate assistants. I thought that I'd experienced the "peak" experience in service, breadth of content, speed of delivery, and an academic ambiance. I was wrong -- for here at Troy Public Library, thanks to highly qualified staff and a crew of fabulous volunteers and extensive resources, I am a total "convert" and will use this facility as my first choice for research and writing. The wireless set up is lightning quick! Many, many thanks for all that you do AND for all that you are -- WORLD class!"     A Patron  [9/04/07]

Kudos to Ruth Thor in the Tech Center. She was very helpful. Actually everybody seems friendly and helpful. Thank you!     A Patron  [8/27/07]

Appreciation to Kathleen Ryan in Youth Services for her being extremely nice and patient in helping me locate books in the children's area, which is unfamiliar to me. Great job!     Brad Lafave  [8/23/07]

A pat on the back to  Mini Kaul for tracking down an "on order" DVD for a patron and finished processing it so the patron could get it the same day for a film discussion group. The patron was very happy!     Connie Doherty  [8/21/07]

Many thanks to Monica Shuck, adult services page, for taking down most of the adult services chairs after carpet cleaning on Sunday Aug. 19th.     Jill Davidson  [8/19/07]

Commendation to Darthelia Conquest for the excellent service she received in completing the check out process when she was due to start another service on the phone. Her conscientiousness and care is very much appreciated.     Sansanee Langer (patron)  [8/10/07]

Appreciation to Pat Kaltwasser who was both gracious and helpful in locating the only copy of a book, checking the shelf, front desk and upstairs, and then calling to confirm that the hold had arrived.     D. Morgan (patron)  [8/05/07]

Thanks to The Friends of  TPL, Youth Services, Circulation, Carolyn Easter & Barb Rutkowski & Bob Laux for their efforts on behalf of the Children's Festival of the Arts. YS handled all the tickets & questions, Circ patiently endured all the crowds in the lobby, CE and BR went above and beyond the call of duty, and Bob unscrambled the tech problem.  Many, many thanks!     Kathy Rice  [8/2/07]
