The Definitive Guide to Using a Scroll Wheel Mouse with Workflows

This procedure should work with any wheel mouse on computers running Windows 98 or XP for Workflows and any other program that did not previously support a scroll wheel mouse.

I would recommend closing out of Workflows before beginning this procedure. As it will probably not work correctly until Workflows had been re-loaded.

You'll need to download Flywheel from PCWorld or on our server, and then install it to your computer. When the WinZip install menu pops up, select Setup, decide whether or not you'd like to hear sounds (I would select No for our purposes). Then click on the Activate Flywheel button.

At the next window, click on the Registration Info button in the lower right corner. Under Registration Name enter: I Am Free and for Registration Number enter 13601409. Click on ok after confirmation of Registration info. I obtained this registration code from the PCWorld article.

You'll now want to click on the Configure Flywheel button which is on the right-side of the first row of buttons. This will bring up a new window called Flywheel Properties. In this window you will want to click on the big button in the near middle called Flywheel Options. This will open a window called Flywheel Options. Click on the tab at the top named Applications. Click on the New button in the top right of the window. At the Add Application window, click on Browse. If you start in the Windows directory press the Up Arrow button to get to Local Disk C. From their click on Program Files, Sirsi, Workflows, and then the current workflows executable file which is wf030100.exe at the time of this writing. (Note this changes periodically after Unicorn updates. Typically it's wf******.exe) Click on Open to select. On the Add Application window select Ok. On the Flywheel Properties, select Ok as well. Then click O.K. to minimize the last window to the system tray.

Now re-load Workflows. Happy scrolling.
